“The more you understand your true identity and purpose, soul deep, the more it will influence everything in your life.” – Michelle D. Craig
I want my children to understand that quote. I want them to know and understand, soul deep, exactly who they are, where they came from, and why they are here. I want them to know their individual value and worth. They are known, and they are loved simply for who they are. They can’t take away from that. That is God’s love. It doesn’t change. It was determined long ago and will always be there, available to them.
I watch my kids meander through life, all at different stages, and this is my overarching desire for them: Know God and know your value to Him.
If you know Him, you will be amazed at who He is, His grandness and capacity. And if you learn your value to Him, it will amaze you and fill you with love. He can do anything, and yet He puts His energy and effort into guiding and providing for you. His love is real. His love heals. It heals everything. There is nothing you can’t come back from in this life. Jesus Christ descended below all of it so you would be able to come back from all and any of it.
Throughout my life, I have slowly learned (and am still learning it) my worth and value to my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know His love for me. I just have to have that same love for myself. I have to see me as He does. I have to believe despite my worldly weaknesses and mistakes. Learning it is a process of belief, faith, repentance, desire, vision, and choice. I cycle through it over and over again. With each cycle, however, I recognize I make gains in faith. My knowledge of and love for the Savior builds upon itself each time I allow myself to grow through the cycle. It is not easy. I am not perfect, ever. But it is necessary and worth it. The only place I have ever found true peace and rest in this life is through knowing my Savior and laying all of my cares and problems at His feet.
Forever grateful and deeply humbled to be one of His daughters.
