Things That Warm My Heart …

Things that warm my heart …

My kiddos are back from their trip. They all came back safe, even though I did learn that both Eddie and Jentri got lost on the cruise ship at two separate times (a mother’s worst fear!), but they did come home safely.

Singing ‘Because I have Been Given Much’ today in church. Tears were literally dropping off my face. I have become such a shameless crier lately.

Playing Risk with Coltrin and watching him hesitate to crush me in it because I am his mother and he has a soft heart. I had to remind him that it was just a game and it was okay to crush his mother in a game, ha ha, that he didn’t even have to feel bad about it.

Watching Eddie shadow box to Creed as we watched the movie. He had his shirt off and everything. His little 5 year old body was bouncing around in front of the tv boxing along as Adonis trained.

Doing one of Sidney’s workouts with her and then she doing one of mine with me. We both walked away drenched in sweat. It was fun, and I love that she has her own workout routine that she does daily that I didn’t even know about. That girl is motivated.

Having to go in the church building to find Anja after she didn’t meet me at the car after church and find that she was just waiting to talk to Bishop about getting her Patriarchal Blessing. She, too, is motivated in her own way.

Having all of my kiddos gathered together for Come Follow Me study and listening to their fun thoughts about the Book of Mormon and family plans in case of disaster etc.

Brushing Eddie’s teeth. He usually does it himself, but last night he insisted that he was too tired, so I carried him into the bathroom and sat him on the counter and brushed for him. Then, just like I used to when he was littler and I always brushed for him, after I brushed his tongue, I gently scrubbed the tip of his nose. He just smiled. It comes from a book that he used to love (The Goodnight Train) and we read nightly. There is a part in there where the conductor is washing the train and it says that he “scrubbed the engines dirty nose.” We would always scrub Eddie’s “dirty nose” after brushing.

Listening to Jentri’s replies as I talked with her about why she is getting baptized this Saturday. She knows exactly what it means and why she is choosing to do it.

Eddie asking me to include in our prayers that he is grateful he gets to spend the entire week with me.

When I snuggled Eddie into bed and gave him kisses goodnight, I said “I love you,” and he said, “I know.” That is my most favorite response to that statement that anyone could give. It means I am doing my job right.

I really think that I just might be the luckiest person in the world! I have been blessed with so much.

Forever grateful!
