The blood of Israel know Christ. They recognize His voice when they hear it. I know Him.
Acts 10:9-15. Peter was praying and fell into a “trance”. He was very hungry and in the trance he saw many animals and a voice told Him, “Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.” But Peter told Him ‘no’ because he had never eaten anything common or unclean. To which the voice replied “What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.”
We don’t always know or understand God’s ways. We have to have faith that His purpose is just and that His understanding is round. He is the beginning and the end, He sees all.
Concerning the completion of the law of Moses … some get stuck on the details of the old ways (circumcision etc) and lose gains in the new ways (becoming) because of it. We have to be people of opportunity – ready to move with Him and to follow the light even when we don’t understand in our heads – we need to allow ourselves to understand with our hearts. Feel our way to heaven.
Matthew 13:19 Explanation of the parables:
By the wayside – No understanding of the gospel. Understanding happens with the heart. Teaching happens with the heart, learning happens with the heart. Without the Spirit, nothing is. Empty. Rootless. And that is why Satan can “catcheth” (implying the seed is already floating about, not grounded or rooted to anything and easy to capture) away what was taught.
Stony Ground – These people received it with joy. They felt it in their hearts, but need nourishing and strengthening to hang on. Sometimes we all need nourishing and strengthening. So important to journal and remember our moments of conversion. Write them down. Study them.
Among the Thorns – Matthew 13:22 – “…the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.”
I think this one is so on point for our day right now with our choice in how we use our time. Caring about things that are meaningless and wasteful of our intelligences and slothful with our use of time… so dangerous. And the deceitfulness of riches … “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” – Matthew 6:21.
Where is your heart?
Do you love God above ALL else?
Do you fear man more than God?
Pres. Thompson told of how God loves the variances in His children and how all sacrifices that are true and with a broken heart and contrite spirit are acceptable to Him. They are not measured and compared one to the other. Yours is not better than mine etc.
