Tonight I took my kids to visit one of our friends from Ely. She is here recovering from a hip replacement surgery and just celebrated her 86th birthday the other day. My children reluctantly joined me to go visit her. They wanted to stay home on their devices, but I made them go, and I am so happy I did. They got to witness her love for them, her gentleness, and the joy they bring her by just being there to visit.
As we left, Eddie (who doesn’t remember her at all from Ely) said he was so happy he came to visit and that it was fun. He warmly smiled as he said, “When she hugged me, it felt so soft.”
There is so much power in making sacrifices to spend quality time with people. People are everything! Stop from the busy life, put the phone down, and take a second to just be present with someone you love. You won’t regret it, I promise.
Forever grateful that God is present with us always and loves all of His children with such devotion. His love warms my heart!
