Lessons Not Spoken At All

Part of our religious studies recently has been Jacob 5. Previously I wrote a few of my insights etc concerning this chapter and since then have read and listened to many others’ teachings and insights of this chapter. The lessons are wonderful, strong and insightful, but one thing I have learned from all of these different lessons is that sometimes there aren’t words that can 100% accurately say what is being taught.

I read Jacob 5 on my own … and I feel it, all of it. I feel what is being taught. And it makes perfect sense to my heart, all of it. There is hope in it. There is faith in it, trust and stability. It’s like going home. Familiar, something I’ve known all along. Words, explanations, they can’t teach this. Only the Spirit teaches this. Sometimes, the most powerful lessons are those that aren’t spoken at all.

I can’t emphasize enough the importance it is to allow ourselves to be vulnerable enough to feel the Spirit. President Nelson is urging us to learn how we hear God speak to us. If we want it and seek for it, we will hear Him. It will be taught to us in our hearts. We will feel it. Keep your heart soft and available to feeling. Be vulnerable and live intentionally, wanting and seeking to learn by the Spirit. He will speak to you!

Forever grateful!
