I’m tired, so this is going to be short.
My kids and I were reading about the sign Samuel the Lamanite gave for the birth of the Savior, a day and a night and a day without any darkness, and it made me wonder at the purpose of this specifically being the sign. Then, half jokingly, I made a comment to my kids that this was probably the sign because the joy and excitement from Heaven at the actual birth of the Savior was so exuberant that it simply couldn’t be contained and illuminated itself throughout all creation in the form of light. I mean, really, the Light of Christ is throughout all creation.
This explanation makes 100% sense to me. My heart easily illuminates the love and gratitude I have for the Savior and the excitement and joy I feel at getting to be a part of this plan and that is only a small portion of light that my little being can maintain – I can’t imagine how bright that feeling would beam at the reality of the Savior’s birth! Certainly the Heavens (and apparently the earth) were lit.
Forever Grateful!
