Yesterday we had 4 kid sporting events to attend and one I couldn’t make it to. Eddie played flag football this season. He is my first kid to play football ever. Yesterday, he scored his first touchdown. He was so excited! And I’ll admit, so was I, ha ha. Honestly, I was a little surprised he even knew which way to run and where he needed to run to. It was seriously the cutest.
After that, we went to Coltrin’s soccer game where he scored the only goal his team made. One of his teammates centered the ball to where Coltrin was. The goalie was coming out after it and Coltrin chip shot it right up and over the goalie to score. It was perfectly executed. It was awesome. Coltrin usually plays goalie and is a really good defender, so it was fun for him to get to play an offensive position and to see him do it well was really satisfying. He was excited.
Then Jentri had a soccer game. She too scored a goal for her team. I smiled as I watched her look over to me after to see if I was watching. She, too, usually plays as a defender, but got to try an offensive position this game. She fluttered with her hands in excitement, all smiles, at her success.
Anja had a mountain bike race in Richfield. I didn’t get to be there with her for it, but she took 6th. This is her first year riding. Her race positions went, 6th, 3rd, 8th, 6th for the season. She has worked hard at it and is learning to give it all. I love how determined she is to do her best. That skill will do much for her in her life.
Children are such a sweet treasure in life. I love being a mother and feel so blessed to have the kids I have. They enrich my life greatly. I am so excited to get to watch General Conference with them today. I love them. They make me smile.
Forever grateful for this wonderful life.
