There is a line in my Patriarchal blessing that reads, “You will know peace of mind, and peace and tranquility in times of stress.”
I can’t tell you how many times I have witnessed that promise in my life be fulfilled. Over and over again I have experienced it. I can easily recognize it now as God’s love and mercy, for the blessing and gift that it really is, and I am so grateful for it. It rescues me in times of overwhelm and pain. It rescues me in times of great confusion and fear. He surrounds me and protects me with the peace He offers us.
From the hymn: I know that my Redeemer lives. He lives to bless me with His love. He lives to comfort me when faint. He lives to hear my soul’s complaint. He lives to silence all my fears. He lives to wipe away my tears. He lives to calm my troubled heart.
I love Him!
