My patriarchal blessing recommends I read Abraham often and offers a promise that I will marvel at the relationship that existed between the Lord and him. Last time I read and pondered, I felt the deep connection between the two and knew the Lord’s excitement in sharing His love and creation with Abraham. Then I realized that this was possible because they were spending one on one time together, and it clicked for me how precious one on one time really is as a parent. That is how and where children learn your love for them. That is where teaching happens. That is where the Spirit can dwell and help build those bonds through testifying of the truthfulness of it. We must make time for this as parents.
There are so many wonderful and life applicable lessons available to us through pondering the scriptures. I am so grateful to have them! They are a treasure to me.
