President Thompson’s Class 2

More and more I find myself in a panic over my future. I’m scared. I try and try and try to simply trust the Lord. I try and try and try to remember the reassurance I’ve been given, the promises that have been made … but I just can’t see it (which is so juvenile of me), and so I panic. It reminds me of the man that pleads, “Lord, I believe, help thou mine unbelief.” That is me – so needy of the Lord right now.

PresidentThompson’s class spent the entire hour discussing the introduction page to the Book of Mormon. Who knew you could spend an entire hour on that alone?! haha, but as we discussed and learned, the question arose, “How does the Book of Mormon bring peace to us?” which made me think …

Through the Book of Mormon, I learn:

  • Jesus Christ does not change. He is stable and secure. Something I desparately need in my life.
  • He is always there for me.
  • He will teach guide me because He has been there and knows the way.
  • He forgives easily and completely (Bro. of Jared not praying for 4 years)
  • He uses us if we are willing to be used for His service.
  • He is so so so patient, as patient as He needs to be for us to become what we need to become.
  • His understanding is far more than mine. I MUST trust Him.
  • He works His tail off for us, tirelessly, and never gives up.
  • He expects us to eventually feel and do the same for each other.
  • He and His existence is organized and perfectly structured.
  • His mercy is endless.
  • His grace is enough.

All of these things are bring peace into my life. For me, reading the Book of Mormon literally brings peace into my life. There is something about reading it, in any verse etc, that there is a certain spirit the fills my soul instantly. I know God is in those pages. I know my eternal existence is in those pages. I know my roots and foundation are in those pages. I know my future is in those pages. I know my destination and purpose are in those pages. The Book of Mormon is peace.

Forever grateful!
