Kid Update

So many things have been going on lately in my mommy world. Anja wrestled for the first time this year and crushed it. She’s an animal and loves physical competition. She won 1st in divisions and took 2nd in state. When she goes for something, she goes all out. I love that she wears her heart on her sleeve. When she loses a tough match, she cries so hard. I love it! There is so much honesty in her emotions – it’s super healthy for her. She’s a really hard worker.

Sidney is here for her spring break. She is so much fun to just hang with. I love her so much. She has such a fun personality and is so level headed.

Coltrin taught his first lesson to the Deacon’s Quorum today. He chose the topic of eternal marriage. Such a brave boy considering he comes from a family of divorce. I love that he tries to understand. I always remind him that just because his parents are divorced, doesn’t mean that marriage isn’t what is best for us or meant to be. It is. We grow the most through marriage and family experiences. Sometimes I worry that my ability to be happy despite my situation in divorce will give my kids the wrong idea that people are happier when not married. That just isn’t true. People are happiest when in a healthy marriage and family. There is so much depth in those relationships.

Eddie fell asleep in my lap at church today. He melts my heart. I can’t believe he is almost 8 and will be baptized soon. I am so excited for him.

Jentri loves art. She has been wanting to paint windows and has practiced some on the windows at the house. She is going to grow up to be a very responsible girl, I can tell. She is a deep thinker and feeler too. Sometimes I worry about my kids and their tender hearts, but I can’t protect them from what is real in this world. What I can do, however, is always provide them with a safe place of love and acceptance where they always know they are welcomed.

Forever grateful for this beautiful life!
