Perfection Not Needed

My dad has no idea how many times he rescues me through little acts of love. I’m pretty sure he’s clueless about it. In fact, it makes me chuckle a little. He’s not a member of the church, and as far as I am aware, he doesn’t want to be. He’s not a perfect man and does not live a perfectly clean life. I have no idea if he prays or reads scriptures etc. And yet, even though he doesn’t know it, he’s serving the Lord just the same. I do know that he has a humble and open heart and allows plenty of still, quiet moments into his life. These are the moments the Lord inspires him to send messages to me like this one: “Good morning. Hope you have a wonderful day. Love you.”

He sent me that message out of the blue. I hadn’t talked to him for a week prior to that message, and it was sent to me one morning after I had spent some time in prayer, feeling very lonely, asking Heavenly Father if there was anyone in my life who was really aware of my struggles and how hard life really is for me. Was there anyone who really understood?

It just goes to show that 1) the Lord hears our prayers and 2) that the Lord will use anyone who is willing and available (doesn’t have to be a member or someone who lives a perfect life) to do His work for Him.

Forever grateful!
