Over the past few days I have listened to several talks from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland. I love his words. He speaks with such conviction and strength but it comes from a place of humility through mortal experience. It’s never demeaning. Instead, his words are full of love and hope and pleading. He reminds me that I can keep trying (Songs Sung and Unsung), that it’s okay to struggle, that the Lord, Jesus Christ, is still there for me at all times. He reminds me to look forward in hope and not look back (Remember Lot’s Wife), and he reminds me of my worth as a daughter of God and how to love (How Do I Love Thee). Ultimately, he reminds me to trust in the Lord, to trust myself and what I know and have felt, to trust in faith and in hope, looking up and ahead at the promised blessings that await in the Savior’s loving arms (Cast Not Away Therefore Your Confidence).
I am so grateful for the sacrifices normal everyday people make and have made to allow me to have the knowledge and blessings of the gospel in my life. People work hard and sacrifice time and energy in so many ways that benefit my life. Thank you for your sacrifice! It is deeply appreciated.
Forever grateful!
