I have to give thanks to my Heavenly Father for the time he allowed me to spend with my kids last week. Life has been so rushed lately that I felt that the only chill time I had with my kiddos was the 15 minutes of scripture reading and prayer at the end of the day. I began worrying over it as I felt I could see the effects of it in my children, resentment and acting out. Thankfully, school finished and our lives lightened. We had the best week together simply hanging out, swimming, and playing games. It was so refreshing, and the usual happy personalities returned to my kiddos.
Time present in people’s lives matters. We sacrifice for the people we love, and spending relaxed chill time is worth the sacrifice. During this time of casualness, is usually where most of my gospel teaching can take place. It is where we can have conversations about things that are going on in my kids’ lives. It is teaching time. And when I’m not teaching through words, I’m teaching through snuggling; teaching them safety, comfort and peace – all necessary things they will need to know how to recognize in the Lord as they get older. We are always teaching. I can’t express enough how grateful I am for the Lord’s guidance and mercy in my life.
Forever grateful!
