Today was Anja’s 16th birthday. It’s a real testament to who you are when you have so many great people around you going out of their way to show you they care about you. Anja’s friends went above and beyond to get and make gifts for her that were unique and special to her. I know that made her feel so loved. So many people noted about her sweet and happy disposition and how much they enjoyed being around her. She took a giant bag of suckers to school and handed them out the everyone and anyone to help celebrate her birthday. She had all 300 suckers given away before the end of the school day. Her happiness radiates. I just love it! She carries the light of Christ with her everywhere she goes. I don’t have the words to express how special she is to me and how much I genuinely appreciate who she is. I love that she sets goals for herself. I love that she can laugh about so many things so easily. I love that she is quick witted. I love that she is gentle and kind and thinks deeply. I feel so blessed and humbled to be her mother. So often it is me who is learning from her example.
