A Mother’s Happy Heart

Coltrin passed the Sacrament to me for the first time today (April 25). He was so excited to get to do that for me. I love how pure his heart is and how happily dutiful he is. He steps up and is willing to take on responsibilities and does it with a good attitude without the concern of what other people think. He is blessed to be embedded with that very important trait, which I used to see as a flaw of sorts, but the other day as I watched him administer the sacrament, I saw that trait in him become realized as its potential. While administering the sacrament, I watched him walk to the foyer to check to see if anybody out there needed it (something my ward doesn’t usually do, but apparently his dad’s does) and I watched him look around the chapel for people who might be signaling that they still needed it. I love that, although it was a little uncomfortable for him and he wasn’t completely sure of the organization of what he was doing, that he didn’t let his uncertainty and fear of what anybody else might think about him inhibit the true purpose of what he was doing. He was focused on serving the Lord and Heavenly Father’s children instead. Watching that made my heart swell with love for him. Afterwards he commented about it, “Man, your ward is a lot less organized than Dad’s.” Haha.

Forever grateful to get to be his mom. I feel so humbled that the Lord would trust me with such special spirits to raise.
