My ward split a little over a year ago. I was sad about it as I felt it was one more change I would need to recover from in my life. But as the year has gone by, I have come to better know my new people. As I watch each week via zoom my Relief Society and Sunday School lessons, I see familiar faces smiling and sharing their testimonies, all in love. I listen to sisters shhsh each other with a “Mute your mic, please” comment or grapple over the audibility in a meeting with “We can’t hear you!!! Unmute your mic!” which makes me laugh. Zoom meetings has really allowed me to see and know my ward member’s personalities. I also watch Brother Baker give the Sunday School lesson with so much humility as he struggles with his own trial of he and his wife both fighting cancer. He speaks of other ward members helping them and serving them selflessly. Brother and Sister Adair have repeatedly shown their love and kindness to me. This is how the world is intended to work – through love, compassion and kindness. Never let an opportunity or prompting to show love or kindness to another escape you. Act.
The example set by my inspiring ward members allows my love to immeasurably grow for them and reassures me that I am exactly where I am supposed to be, in this ward, with these people, at this time.
Forever grateful for my Savior’s wisdom, love, guidance and concern over me.
