Church At Home, Alone.

I’ll be honest, church at home, alone, is hard. Today I sat in my living room, dressed for the occasion in my skirt and blouse and sang “Come Come Ye Saints” alone.

Come Come, ye Saints, no toil nor labor fear; but with joy wend your way. Though hard to you this journey may appear, grace shall be as your day. Tis better far for us to strive our useless cares from us to drive; do this, and joy your hearts will swell – All is well! All is well!

Why sould we mourn or think our lot is hard? Tis not so, all is right. Why should we think to earn a great reward if we now shun the fight? Gird up your loins; fresh courage take. Our God will never us forsake; and soon we’ll have this tale to tell – All is well! All is well!

Funny, that I just happened to choose this song …

Then I studied Mosiah 24:13-15 as part of the lesson.

“And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to them in their afflictions, saying: Lift up your heads and be of good comfort, for I know of the covenant which ye have made unto me; and I will covenant with my people and deliver them out of bondage.”

“And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions.”

“And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon Alma and his brethren were made light; yea, the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord.”

Funny that just happened to be the lesson today …

As I said my prayers, the tears streamed down my face. Beneath those tears was a smile and a heart full of gratitude. “I’m okay,” I reassured my tender, loving Heavenly Father while in prayer (I could feel His concern for me), “If this is where you need me to be in my life right now … I’m okay.”

Forever grateful!
