Being a Mom

I have been spit upon way more times than I can count. I have been puked on. I have been pooped on. I have slept on bedroom floors for days at a time. I have picked boogers out of noses and cleaned boogers off of walls. I have been told I am mean. I have had the words screamed at me, “I hate you!” I have had food thrown on me. I have scrubbed yellow poop stains out of clothes with my bare hands and a bar of soap. I have had my belly stretched to beyond capacity and 10 pounds relentlessly and continuously resting upon my bladder. I lived for years with a rib out of place. My hips are still jacked up. I have fallen into a creek because my weight was disproportionate and off balance. I have been up at 1 am, at 2 am, at 3 am, at 4 am, at 5 am, at 6 am all in the same night and turned around and did it again the following night.

And yet, each morning I wake up with happiness and love in my heart, so completely grateful to have had the opportunity to have gone through all of it. I would easily do it all again in a heart beat.

Forever grateful!
