Anja’s Birthday

Today is Anja’s 15th birthday. She is the coolest person. Really. Here are 15 things I love about her:

1. She dreams big.
2. She doesn’t let failure stop her from trying.
3. She gets outside of herself to reach out to others.
4. She thinks in “what if’s.”
5. She set a goal for herself years ago to never say cuss words and still holds herself to it.
6. She’s goofy and funny and makes me laugh.
7. She doesn’t let anyone intimidate her.
8. She is curious about everything.
9. She loves God.
10. She follows through with her commitments.
11. She is strong, emotionally and physically.
12. She is so, so humble.
13. She is patient and kind.
14. She puts spiritual things first.
15. She tries hard to do the things that I encourage her to do and work on even though they are hard for her and she really doesn’t have any interest in them, like learning to braid and pull up her own hair.

I could keep going. She really is the most amazing person! Her heart is so good and she tries so hard for things that really matter in life. She tries to learn. She tries to do what is right according to God. She treats people as human beings. She is level headed. There are so many great things about her and I feel so honored to get to be her mother.
