I LOVE being a mom! From playing football with Coltrin, to chatting with Jentri about the hardships of being a girl with two bully brothers and older sisters who don’t have her back, to cuddling Eddie while we read the Joseph Smith History and listening to his 5 year old version of the Adam and Eve story (“What kind of fruit was it they ate, Mama?” was what he wanted to know. I told him it was a peach :), to listening to my kiddos race to finish the lines of the different Articles of Faith, to listening to all of them sing along and do the actions to the “I Will Be What I Believe” song that Eddie requested we listen to, to jamming out to Taylor Swift’s old love songs with Sidney and Anja while we sneak away to DQ for ice cream, to massaging Sidney’s sore track feet and helping her compose a tactful decline to her boss who was requesting she work 5 days this week on top of her school work and track practices (yikes!).
This is the best job ever!
I feel so blessed to have these opportunities to be a part of my children’s lives. I love that I don’t have to be perfect for them . . . I just have to be. Time and presence is the real language of love.
Forever Grateful!
