CFM, 2020 – The Beginning

As I study, I am simply writing out my answers to questions that are asked in the Come Follow Me study guide.

Q: “If someone asked you where the Book of Mormon came from, what would you say?”

The Book of Mormon is a compiled record of ancient peoples in the Americas, their history, politics and religions. It was recorded as journals, kept from generation to generation and finally abridged to a more functional form by a man named Mormon. His son, Moroni, was the last to make note in the record and, as instructed by the Lord, hid the record in a hillside. Many years later, that same Moroni, now as an angel or spirit, came to Joseph Smith (after Joseph Smith had prayed and sought direction as to which church to join) and directed him to the location and care of the plates. Joseph was now to be the guardian over the plates with the charge to translate them into English. He did so through the power and direction of God. He was also able to receive revelation and clarity on many other gospel principles and eventually restored the original church of Jesus Christ in fullness as it was established by Christ himself in His earthly time. This church is now known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Q: “How would you describe the Lord’s hand in bringing for the Book of Mormon?”

I think I answered that okay enough in the above answer.

My Testimony of The Book of Mormon:

Every time I begin reading from the Book of Mormon, I can feel its meaningfulness in my life right away. There is so much to learn from it! I have learned about the patience God has with us. I have learned about the depth of His love for us. I have learned about perseverance and hard work, about sacrifice and commitment, about repentance and mercy. There hasn’t been a situation in my life where I couldn’t find meaning and direction for it through the Book of Mormon. It is easily the single most important book in my life! I know that its words are from God. I know that with 100% of my being, without a doubt in my mind, and I am so grateful for a loving God who would help me to know and learn about His love through this highly functioning means. I am also grateful for all of the people who have made severe sacrifices to allow this book to come about in our time.

Oh so forever grateful!
