John 3:27. When people approached John with the confusion of Jesus baptizing instead of John baptizing, he answered them with … “A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.”
If I’m understanding that passage correctly, it implies that it doesn’t matter what is being done, because if it’s not done with the proper authority and gifted with the Spirit of God, then it’s no good anyway – not valid.
There is so much faith and love in that statement. Faith that our Heavenly Father knows us as His children individually. That we are His and His love and care abound in our lives under His grand design and control. We just need to hand it all over to Him.
Something I needed to be reminded of at this exact moment of my life. Another tender mercy.
